HARRY BELAFONTE FOUNDS
SOCIAL JUSTICE ORGANIZATION SANKOFA.ORG

The legendary actor, entertainer, and humanitarian activist, Harry Belafonte, is the founder of the social justice organization Sankofa.

Sankofa is leveraging Belefonte's connections and has the support of many of today's most celebrated artists and influential individuals including Dead Prez, John Legend, Estelle, Dave Matthews, Usher, Common, Macklemore, Q-Tip, Carlos Santana, Public Enemy, Chris Rock, Danny Glover, and Dr. Cornel West. Through Sankofa, these artists and activists are collaborating to elevate the voices of the disenfranchised and promote justice, peace, and equality.

As the organization puts it, "Sankofa brings together thought-leaders, activists and communities around the issues of Mass Incarceration and Criminal Justice through the lens of Voting Rights."

Sankofa has been building a platform where influential artists and grassroots leaders can work collaboratively to speak out on the most pressing social justice issues of our time.

Visit Sankofa's website to learn more, get information, exchange ideas, and find ways to activate through their calls-to-action around society’s most urgent human rights issues, including systemic bias and discrimination exhibited by legal and voting institutions.
